At Creative Smiles Dental Practice we provide our patients with white fillings only, rather than amalgam, or ‘metal’ fillings which contain mercury. White fillings are much more discreet than amalgam, meaning patients are always more comfortable in their smile.
Used to restore decaying, damaged or broken teeth, white fillings are made up from a tooth-coloured resin and glass mixture. This maintains the appearance of natural looking teeth.
The existing filling (if applicable) is safely removed, along with any tartar, decay and plaque. The site is appropriately cleaned and dried, then the tooth surface is etched and coated with gel and bonding solution to ensure the filling attaches to the natural tooth.
The composite solution is then carefully placed into the treatment site and moulded to match the natural shape of the tooth. Finally, a curing light is used to harden the material, which is then trimmed and polished to provide the patient with an aesthetically pleasing finish.
During an initial appointment, our dentist will work with the patient to draw up a bespoke treatment plan.
With every patient’s case being different, it’s not possible to provide an accurate indication of costs without a prior consultation. However, for an up to date list of our from prices, please head to our treatment fees page.
